On Wednesday 15th January at 19.30 our 2nd Regional Forum will take place. This Forum will take place over teams and will focus on Child Protection Issues and be delivered by Fionnuals O'Neill our Regional Children's Officer. This is open to all clubs in the region, with a maximum of 2 committee members per club invited to attend. It was the turn of the younger swimmers to visit K Leisure in Naas for the Future Challengers Gala. It was a day of amazing swimming, great fun and a special celebrity visitor, Buddy the Elf. It was the turn of our older Regional Squad Athletes to return for a visit for their second onshore training camp. This time the focus was on Nutrition alongside the pool training and team building exercises. The day started off with a group breakfast, the best kind of team building exercise for an athlete. A full belly and comeraderie, the best way to start the day. The Nutrition Demonstration and information session was a hit. It was the turn of the older competitive swimmers to visit the National Aquatic Centre, for the first Aspiring Champions Gala of the season. As Halloween was just around the corner, this gala took on a more spooky theme, with fun and spooky face painting occurring by the athletes themselves. Great fun was had, Great races and swims took place and lots of smiles were seen through out the weekend. Take a look at the photos and see if you can spot some familiar faces!

Sunday 6th October saw the younger swimmers from Leinster attend their first regional gala of the season. There were some fabulous swims, amazing personal bests, and a lot of experience achieved by this cohort. It was the turn of the Stage 2 athletes to be welcomed to the National Aquatic Centre on Sunday 29th September, A mix of boys and girls aged between 16 and 17 arrived full of excitement at kicking off the new season. It was the turn of the Stage 1 athletes on Saturday 28th September. Aged between 13 and 15 years old, this cohort were invited to partake in a day of pool based training, land based training and a sports psychology session. A mix of both boys and girls worked hard in the pool, training with other similarly aged athletes from various Leinster based clubs, they learnt new skills that they can benefit their future endeavours. The first regional camp of the season was hosted at the Sports Ireland Campus last weekend with the Leinster Skills Academy attending their first onshore training camp of the season. Swimmers from various clubs across the region attended in pool and land based training sessions with the Leinster Coaches and learnt about the holisitic approach to their sport with classroom based nutrition and well being sessions, giving the swimmers skills that will help them excel within their discipline. Swim Ireland have announced 2024 Officials school. The Officials school forms part of the officials' development pathway and will provide candidates with the opportunity to become a provisionally licensed judge. The school is suitable for candidates who have previously completed level 1 and level 2 officials' courses.
